Introduction to the Garden Route:
The Garden Route stretches over 250km between Storms River and Mossel Bay, along the N2 highway and the Ocean. Many of the small towns and beaches are amongst the most picturesque in the country, not to mention the magnificent Golf courses. Sea, Sports and History with the cities of Knysna, Oudtshoorn, Mossel Bay and George. Its landscapes take you from pristine beaches to spectacular mountain passes of Outeniqua or Robinson, and also primary forests in Knysna and Tsitsikamma, lakes and lagoons, landscapes of the Little Karoo which compare with the American Far West.
Plenty of activities are possible and suit all tastes: The highest commercial Bunjy jump in the world at Bloukrans (217m), sailing and oyster tasting on the Knysna lagoon, Safari in a private game reserve in Plettenberg Bay or towards Mossel Bay, visit of Ostrich farms, Cango Caves and architecture of the 19th centurty in à Oudtshoorn, Golf on the cliffs in Knysna or at the foot of the Mountains in George, hiking in the Knysna forest.
